Will You Marry Me Contest/Sweepstakes

Essence Magazine is again sponsoring the “Will You Marry Me” Contest and Sweepstakes this year. The magazine invites four bachelors to surprise the special women in their lives with a proposal that will be featured in the pages of the magazine as well as captured on hidden camera. Readers, as well as visitors to Essence.com will be able to vote for their favorite couple. On February 12th, the announcement of the winning couple will be nationally televised for a pre-Valentine’s Day special. Voters/contest entrants will have the opportunity to win four nights on the magic isles of Maui, Hawaii, at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa and the Grand Wailea courtesy of the Maui Visitors Bureau.

Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, age 18 or older at time of entry. Void where prohibited by law.

Timing: The Will You Marry Me? 2010 Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Time on 1/4/10 and ends at 11:59 PM on 2/11/10.

How to Enter Will You Marry Me 2010 Sweepstakes:

• Via Online: You are automatically entered once in the Sweepstakes random drawing when you visit www.ESSENCE.com and follow all onscreen instructions to vote for your favorite couple in the “Will You Marry Me?” Contest. To enter the Sweepstakes without placing a vote, see Method 2 below. Online entrants are subject to all online notices including, but not limited to, these Official Rules and Sponsors’ privacy policies. Online entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices will be disqualified.

• Via Mail: To enter via U.S. mail, hand print your name and address on a postcard and mail to: Will You Marry Me? 2010 Sweepstakes, c/o: Essence Magazine, 135 W. 50th Street, Attn: SB, New York, NY 10020.

Limitations: Limit one vote/online entry per person or e-mail address per day.

Prizes: One Grand Prize: Winner will receive a land package consisting of the following: 2 nights hotel accommodations at the Ka’anapali Beach Resort, Hawaii ARV: $1,266.75 and 2 nights hotel accommodations at the Grand Wailea ARV: $1,266.75.

Total ARV of Grand Prize: $2,533.50.
